SIU invokes mandate following report of injury

(HURON TWP, ON) - Dec. 13, at 12:16 p.m., the South Bruce OPP Detachment received a request to check on a man residing at an address in Huron Township.
 
Officers attended the address where they encountered a combative man who was taken into custody. The man later reported some pain and was taken to a local hospital for medical assessment. A responding officer was also treated for minor injuries.
 
The OPP has notified the province's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at 416-622-2342.
