Ugly Christmas sweater is theme for annual Kincardine Air Cadets Christmas party
A sea of ugly Christmas sweaters filled the Kincardine Legion Hall as members of the Kincardine Air Cadets, officers and staff, outfit themselves accordingly for the annual Christmas party, held Monday, Dec. 18.
The variety of costumes was a visual delight, ranging from seriously ugly Christmas sweaters to fancy-decorated sweaters to a Christmas gift.
It was all in great fun, with some prizes involved.
Mike Ferrier won the top prize for the ugliest Christmas sweater worn by a parent, with honourable mentions to Ben Chilton and Jane Casler.
Captain Sandra Benbow won for the staff, with honourable mentions to captain Shawn Nolan and Lisa Moore, chairperson of the Squadron Sponsorship Committee.
Katelyn Chilton won for the Cadets, with honourable mentions to Keira Hazzard and Jessica Bale.
The top ugliest sweaters, by vote, were worn by Katelyn Chilton, Sandra Benbow, Mike Ferrier, and Keira Hazzard.
Following a delicious meal, served by Legion volunteers, Moore thanked everyone for attending and all who helped with the event, and then commanding officer Stephanie Rutledge wished the crowd a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
The evening ended with a gift exchange game for Cadets and their siblings, and then several other games and a social time.
