RVilla residents, staff hold annual food and toy drive
Residents and staff of RVilla Retirement Living in Ripley gathered up a big box of non-perishable food and a huge, stuffed teddy bear during their annual food and toy drive before Christmas.
The items were donated by residents and staff, as well as guests who came to enjoy the weekly entertainment at RVilla. The box of donations was sent to the Kincardine Food Bank, Thursday, Dec. 21.
The RVilla ladies also presented a donation to St. Andrew's United Church, Ripley. Every other Tuesday, volunteer Marilyn Johnston does manicures for the ladies, and the cost is by donation. Those funds were presented to Rev. Marsha Roberts of the United Church.
RVilla was a beehive of activity just before Christmas with carol-singing, a Candy Cane Hot Chocolate social, sing-along with Jean MacDonald, and entertainment by the Chalmers Band, as well as the regular exercise program, pet therapy, Bible study, Bingo, and church services.
January appears to be just as busy, with journaling, Grade 3 reading, Beanbag Twister, Balloon Tennis, entertainment by Ron Rock, euchre, exercise, pet therapy, entertainment by Easy Does It, manicures, Scrabble, Ladder Ball, and more.
The Seniors Dining event will be held Thursday, Jan. 18, at Noon, followed by Ring Toss and entertainment by Ray Richards.
