Kindred Spirits group to meet Jan. 7 for potluck and trivia night
The Kindred Spirits single senior social group held its inaugural meeting Nov. 25, at Knox Presbyterian Church, Kincardine.
About 20 people attended, with co-ordinator Wendy Cox leading the discussion, and having everyone fill out a questionnaire.
The focus was on compiling a directory of interests and then drawing up a list of all those who enjoy those particular interests, said Cox. That way, if someone wanted to attend an event, he/she simply checked the list to see who else would like to attend and could contact that person so they could go together.
Cox said the name Kindred Spirits denotes a group that is kind to one another and respects each other's decisions.
She said the group, as a whole, could attend various events, or people could contact one another to attend concerts or plays or shows, or even hockey games in Owen Sound.
"The idea is to share rides and companionship," said Cox.
With December so busy with Christmas activities and events, the group agreed to meet Sunday, Jan. 7, at 3 p.m., at Knox Presbyterian Church for a potluck meal and trivia night.
