Craig Whitfield retires after more than 30 years working for Kincardine
Craig Whitfield (above right, and at right), who worked for the Town of Kincardine and the Municipality of Kincardine for 31 years, has retired.
His final day of work was Tuesday, Jan. 2.
(Above, Whitfield, right, receives a Silver Stick jacket from tournament director Ray Luinstra, for hard work and dedication to the event.)
The plan was to have Keith Davidson of the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band, pipe Whitfield from the Davidson Centre, Tuesday morning, but unfortunately, Whitfield was ill and unable to attend.
Recreation director Karen Kieffer says that Whitfield began his career with Kincardine as the parks supervisor, but the bulk of his years have been as inside maintainer at the Davidson Centre.
He quickly became well-known to regular patrons of that facility.
