Kincardine residents urged to conserve water Jan. 16-19
Kincardine water users are urged to focus on conservation while the Kincardine water treatment plant is undergoing a SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system upgrade, from Jan. 16-19.
During this time, the plant will be off-line and water will be fed into the Kincardine system from the Huron-Kinloss municipal well system, states a press release from Kincardine chief administrative officer Sharon Chambers, issued Wednesday.
Customers serviced by the Kincardine plant, including the former Town of Kincardine, Huronville and the pipeline to Inverhuron, are being asked to conserve water during this time period to ensure the well system can keep up with the demand of the township system, as well as Kincardine's.
Please be aware that the water from the Huron-Kinloss groundwater wells has elevated levels of naturally-occurring sodium and fluoride. Users may also experience a difference in water pressure, colour and taste at this time.
If you have any questions or concerns, contact the Kincardine water services office at 519-396-4660.
