Huron-Bruce MPP takes on new responsibilities at Queen's Park
QUEEN'S PARK- Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson has taken on the role of chairperson of the Progressive Conservative (PC) Caucus in addition to her existing duties as Critic for International Trade, along with Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation.

"I am humbled at the opportunity to assist interim leader Vic Fedeli in fostering an environment whereby our candidates, together with Caucus, will be able to devise a credible and effective path forward as the clear choice for change in the June 7 provincial election," said Thompson.

"I look forward to returning to the Legislature in February and holding the Liberal government to account for its 14 years of waste. Ontarians deserve better, and the Liberals have proven time and again that they just aren't interested in doing what's right for our province."

In a media conference Tuesday morning, Fedeli also announced that he will not be participating in the PC party's leadership election, slated for March 24.

"Vic (Fedeli) was the unanimous choice of Caucus to lead us during this interim time frame," said Thompson, "and he is doing a tremendous job in the role. I wholeheartedly support his efforts to revitalize our party, and will work closely with him to see this achieved."

Fedeli took over interim leadership after former leader Patrick Brown resigned Jan. 25, in the wake of allegations of sexual misconduct.
