Kincardine Peewees lose opening game of OMHA finals
After a couple of weeks off, the Kincardine Legion Peewee Kinucks were struggling to get back into the game, as they hosted the Ayr Flames for Game 1 of the best-of-five/six-point series in the OMHA “B” finals, Sunday afternoon at the Davidson Centre.

A solid crowd watched as the ceremonial puck-drop was handled by Dane Dunlop and Ethan Primeau, members of the last Kincardine Legion Peewee Kinucks All-Ontario Team in 2010. Primeau was the goalie, while Dunlop was part of the coaching staff.

The Flames opened the scoring late in the first period, making it a 1-0 game.

Kincardine fought back, with numerous scoring chances, but could not solve the Ayr goalie.

Ayr scored again in the third, and the Kinucks were unable to answer back, allowing the Flames a 2-0 win.

Game 2 is Friday night in Ayr, and Game 3 is back at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, Saturday at 4 p.m. Game 4 is March 31 in Ayr; and if necessary, Game 5 is April 1 in Kincardine at 3 p.m., and Game 6 is in Ayr, April 3.
