Wingham man charged in double homicide southwest of Wroxeter
(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – A 56-year-old Wingham man is facing charges of first-degree murder in relation to a double homicide that took place Thursday, southwest of Wroxeter.

March 29, at 8:12 a.m., members from the Huron County OPP detachment responded to a 9-1-1 call for assistance at a residence located on C Line Road. Upon arrival, police located two deceased adults, an injured adult female and a male suspect at the scene. 

The female victim was transported by emergency medical services to a local hospital where she received medical care and was later released.   

Police arrested the male suspect at the scene without incident. 

Kevin CARTER, 56, of Wingham has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He has since been remanded into custody with a video court appearance scheduled for April 3, at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.

As a result of a publication ban, police cannot release any information about the victims.

Members of the Huron County OPP Crime Unit and OPP Forensic Identification Services continue to investigate under the direction of detective inspector Randy Wright of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
