Kincardine Theatre Guild in rehearsals for "Murder by the Book"

The Kincardine Theatre Guild is in rehearsals for the mystery-comedy, "Murder by the Book," which opens May 22 at the Kincardine Arts Centre in downtown Kincardine.

Directed by Shirley Bieman, the play tells the tale of what happens when an all-woman, mystery-writers' club gets together - murder, a little mayhem, and comedy.

Art and life collide for detectives Jane Doyle and Tom Watson as they investigate a murder at the Victorian Mansion where a small group of female mystery writers is holding its club meeting.  One of them is found murdered - did one of the other writers try to kill off the competition?

The cast includes:

  • Nat (Nathaniel) Hawthorne played by Jen Neil
  • Pam Scott played by Deb Tripp
  • Ruth Stein played by Jaki Mayer-Duggan
  • Sasha Dimitrova played by Jacqueline Simoes
  • Jane Doyle played by Liz Small
  • Tom Watson played by Dylan Trahan

Of this group, Tripp, Simoes and Trahan are new to the theatre guild.

The show runs May 22-23 (Gala evening), 28-30, and June 4-5 at 8 p.m., with one matinee, Saturday, June 6, at 2 p.m.

Tickets will be on sale by mid-April, available at J'Adorn in downtown Kincardine.
