South Bruce OPP report theft charges in two separate incidents
MAN FACING CHARGES AFTER THEFT
(WALKERTON, ON) - March 31, at 8:27 a.m., the South Bruce OPP was advised that a front-end loader had been taken from a business along Kincardine Highway in Walkerton.
Officers located the loader on Old Durham Road in Walkerton and arrested a man without incident. Thirty-three-year-old Justin SPITZIG of Brockton was charged with break and enter, two counts of possessing stolen property, two counts of theft, and possession of a controlled substance. He was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing April 1.
DRIVER FACING CHARGES AFTER STOLEN VEHICLE STOPPED
(CHESLEY, ON) - March 29, at 2:32 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received information regarding a stolen beige pick-up truck in the area of Schmidt Lake Road in Greenock Township.
Officers located the truck on Schmidt Lake Road and signalled the driver to stop, using the police cruiser emergency lighting. The vehicle accelerated and continued along Schmidt Lake Road at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle came to a stop in a parking lot when the driver collided with a piece of parked farm equipment along 2nd Street Southwest in Chesley. The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Twenty-seven-year-old Tiffany JOHNSON was arrested without incident. She was charged with possession of stolen property, flight from police, dangerous driving, and drive while under suspension. She is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton, April 18, to answer to the charges.
