Three men facing drug-trafficking charges
(HURON EAST, ON) - A traffic stop in Vanastra Thursday morning, April 5, has resulted in police laying drug-trafficking charges against three men.
Members of the Huron-Perth Community Street Crimes Unit, along with a Huron County OPP officer, stopped a vehicle of interest just after 11 a.m., April 5, on 7th Avenue in Vanastra.
Upon stopping the vehicle, the officers completed some checks on the occupants and learned two passengers in the vehicle were not allowed to be in contact with each other. The driver was also found to be unlicensed and on probation.
Incident-to-arrest officers conducted a search of the vehicle and located and seized a quantity of cannabis marijuana and methamphetamine. Officers also seized offence-related property consisting of Canadian currency, cell phones and a replica firearm. The total value of the seized items is estimated at around $2,600.
As a result of the police investigation, the following three man were charged:
- Alex MOSHER, 24, of Goderich, with Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Methamphetamine) for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule II Substance (Cannabis Marijuana) and Fail to Comply with Recognizance.
- Adam MOSHER, 26, of Kitchener, with Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Methamphetamine) for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule II Substance (Cannabis Marijuana) and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
- Ronnie MOSHER, 20, of Huron East, with Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Methamphetamine) for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule II Substance (Cannabis Marijuana), Fail to Comply with Probation and Fail to Comply with Recognizance.
All three were remanded into custody with court appearances scheduled for Friday, April 6, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
