Two Kincardine youth win Legion District public-speaking contest

The Royal Canadian Legion in Goderich hosted the District public-speaking competition, Saturday, with two Kincardine youth winning their divisions and advancing to the Area contest, slated for April 29 in Scarborough.
The District consists of 50 Legion branches in six counties (Bruce, Grey, Perth, Huron, Waterloo and Wellington).
Nolan Janes (right) and Harleen Gill, both of Kincardine, took first place in the Junior and Intermediate levels, respectively. Both are students at Huron Heights Public School.
Nolan's speech was called “Being Left-Handed,” while Harleen's speech was about “Women Empowerment.”
