Former Kincardine resident has work on display at Victoria Park Gallery
Toronto artist Adam Dalgarno, formerly of Kincardine, has his work on display at Victoria Park Gallery in downtown Kincardine, until the end of April.
A multidisciplinary artist, he uses a wide range of media to fulfil his creative intentions.
Dalgarno spent his childhood in northern Ontario and Zambia. His family then relocated to Kincardine where he attended Kincardine District Secondary School. There, his teachers, C.J. Johnstone and Cati VanVeen, helped fuel his desire to communicate and express himself, visually.
After high school, Dalgarno moved to Toronto and completed a Bachelor of Design degree in illustration at the Ontario College of Art and Design.
Jumping on an opportunity to continue learning carpentry and renovations (another skill-set he learned in Kincardine under skilled contractors Grant Frook and Will Vande Klippe), Dalgarno took on carpentry positions for the HGTV show, “My Parents' House” and then “Love It or List It,” for which he worked from the pilot up to the end of Season 6.
He continues to create art and exhibit in galleries in Toronto, and has his paintings shown in several episodes of “Love It or List It.”
Drawing on his fascination with nature and the need to keep his hands busy, Dalgarno finds passion for creating art by continuously trying new creative outlets for inspiration and to express his ideas.
Painting, sculpting, carving, furniture-building, and pottery are some of the media he is currently passionate about.
The Victoria Park Gallery is located in the Kincardine Arts Centre in downtown Kincardine, and is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, check the Facebook page at
