Awards presented at Ripley-Huron Skating Club StarSkate Banquet

The Ripley-Huron Skating Club hosted its annual StarSkate Banquet, Tuesday, where the skaters were acknowledged for their hard work this season.

Among the highlights, was the presentation of the following awards:
 

• Senior Program Achievement Award and Program Assistant of the Year - Meagan Hirst
• Junior Program Achievement Award - Katie Roppel
• Shining Star award - Nicole D’Arcey
• Most Improved Skater Award - Brianna Pointon

All the StarSkaters did their best and achieved a number of milestones:
 

• Taryn Fry completed the Rocker Foxtrot and American Waltz dances
• Kenzie Fry passed the Fourteenstep, and European Waltz to complete her Senior Bronze Crest and received her Interpretive introductory crest
• Megan Hirst passed Keat’s Foxtrot, and rocker Foxtrot and received her interpretive introductory crest.
• Chole Shields achieved her Star 1 Ice Dance and Freeskate, as well as the Canasta Tango
• Brianna Pointon passed her Star 1 Ice Dance, Skills and Freeskate
• Samantha D’arcey achieved her Star 1 Ice Dance and Skills
• Nicole D’Arcey passed her Star 1 Ice Dance, Skills and Freeskate
• Katie Roppel achieved her Star 1 Skills and Freeskate, as well as the Canasta Tango and Baby Blues, receiving her preliminary dance badge
