St. Jacobs man killed in single-vehicle accident in Elderslie Township

(ELDERSLIE TWP, ON) - May 19, at 11:32 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a single-vehicle crash along Bruce County Road 10 in Elderslie Township.

Officers arrived to find that a northbound car had left the roadway and struck a guard rail before coming to rest on its roof.

The driver, 65-year-old David HICKNELL of St. Jacobs, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger was air-lifted to a London hospital for treatment of serious, non-life-threatening, injuries.

Bruce County Road 10 was closed between Concession 6 and Concession 8 for the safety of emergency responders. It has since re-opened to traffic.
