Bruce Telecom Lighthouse Blues Festival set for July 10-12

Organizers of the 2015 Bruce Telecom Lighthouse Blues Festival have announced the line-up for the July 10-12 event, and it is the best yet.

Again this year, the ticketed Friday and Saturday night main stage will be hosted in the rear parking lot of the Bruce Steakhouse, overlooking the beautiful Kincardine Harbour and Lighthouse.

“We have the best line-up in our six-year history throughout the three days of the festival,” says organizer Rick Clarke.

Headlining the Bruce Telecom main stage, Friday night, will be Southern Hospitality featuring Victor Wainwright, JP Soars and Damon Fowler. Supporting acts include Ghost Town Blues Band (Memphis), Dawn Tyler Watson and Ben Racine (Montreal), Jeff Jensen Band (Memphis), Crystal Shawanda (Nashville) and Josh Garrett (New Orleans).

Saturday night the main stage headliner is Shemekia Copeland (Chicago), with supporting acts Angel Forrest (Montreal), Samantha Martin and Delta Sugar (Toronto), Ray Fuller and The Bluesrockers (Cleveland), 24th Street Wailers (Toronto), Grainne Duffy (Ireland).

“We continue to present major international touring Blues artists in our very intimate setting, something that ensures us a full house both nights with fans travelling in from around the province,“ says Clarke.

The Saturday afternoon Kincardine Business Improvement Area (BIA) Street Festival has four performance stages with such regional artists as Cheryl Lescom and the Tucson Choir Boys, Trouble and Strive, Rick Fines and Roly Platt, Suzy Vinnick, Loco Zydeco, Roger Neilsen, and many others.

The street festival will also feature the vintage British sports car exhibit, a motorcycle show and shine, artists display, a street market and the TD Bank children’s zone.

The festival closes Sunday morning at the Victoria Park Gazebo with a Gospel Revival featuring Diana Braithwaite and Chris Whiteley, and The Bluebelles.

The festival has gained province-wide recognition and was recently presented with a Top 100 Festival and Events Award by the tourism industry. Area businesses and the Province of Ontario, in recognition of the event's regional economic impact, generously support it.

Proceeds raised by the festival are donated to the Kincardine and District Lions Club and its community projects.

Tickets go on sale in early May. Watch for updates at www.lighthousebluesfest.ca and on Facebook.
