Eadie returns as mayor of Kincardine, with Wilson as deputy mayor; Twolan and Murray elected in Huron-Kinloss
Anne Eadie is returning as mayor of Kincardine for another four years, with Marie Wilson as deputy mayor.
The pair was voted in as part the municipal election, with the electronic voting system closing Tuesday night (after the 24-hour extension of the voting period) and results posted by 8:15 p.m. Voter turn-out was 39.38 per cent, much lower than the 48 per cent in 2014.
Eadie won with 3,435 votes, while challenger Ron Stephens got 374 votes.
Joining Eadie and Wilson at the council table in December, are councillors-at-large Doug Kennedy, Laura Haight, and Dave Cuyler; Ward 1 councillors Maureen Couture and Gerry Glover; Ward 2 councillor Bill Stewart; and acclaimed Ward 3 councillor Randy Roppel.

The unofficial results showed Wilson received 2,910 votes, while Kennedy got 2,764 votes, Haight got 2,593 votes, Cuyler got 1,957 votes, Andrew White got 1,324 votes and Gordon Campbell got 1,267 votes.
In Ward 1, Couture received 1,658 votes, Glover got 1,485 votes, and Adam Cherry got 444 votes.
In Ward 2, Stewart received 769 votes, and Linda McKee got 285 votes.

Meanwhile, Mitch Twolan has been re-elected mayor of Huron-Kinloss, with Don Murray elected deputy-mayor. Voter turn-out was 39 per cent.
The unofficial results showed Twolan won with 1,846 votes, while his competitor, Brian MacEachern, got 922 votes.
Murray won with 1,680 votes, while his competitor, Perry Elliott, got 1,018 votes.
Joining Twolan and Murray at the township council table in December, are acclaimed councillors Lillian Abbott, Jim Hanna, Ed McGugan, Carl Sloetjes and Jeff Elliott.
