Retired women teachers learn about Retire-At-Home services
Members of the South Bruce branch of the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario (RWTO/OERO) met at Chalmers Community Church, Thursday, April 23. Following registration, they introduced themselves and gave an interesting remembrance of their teaching years.
Sharron Coulter, Area 1 director, led in several discussions, one being a Memory Box - all are encouraged to record some teaching experiences.
Lois Davey (above) was presented with the
Cora Bailey Award for her work in the group and in the community. As the only over-90 member present, Peggy McCharles was presented with a rose.
Other business items were discussed, and then a lovely turkey dinner was served.
Merri Macartney gave an excellent presentation on Retire-At-Home, giving information on the care services of the Ontario Home Care Association.
The fall RWTO/OERO gathering will be at Pine River United Church, Thursday, Oct. 22.
