South Bruce OPP report drug seizure;  fail-to-remain crash; theft; speeder; alcohol charge

DRUGS SEIZED AT TRAFFIC STOP
 

(KINCARDINE TWP, ON) – April 26, at 2:39 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol along Queen Street North in Kincardine Township, stopped a green Chevrolet Silverado. 

The officer found a quantity of illegal street drugs in the vehicle. The driver, a 41-year-old Kitchener man, was charged with possession of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to appear in court June 8, to answer to the charge.
 

POLICE INVESTIGATING FAIL-TO-REMAIN CRASH
 

(KINCARDINE, ON) – April 26, at 10:33 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Queen Street and Broadway in Kincardine. 

Officers arrived to find that two young teens were crossing the street when a grey or dark brown four-door car turned onto Queen Street. The car was east of the intersection on Broadway and turned right to go north on Queen Street. The vehicle struck one of the teens causing minor injuries. Officers are looking to speak with the male driver to complete the crash investigation.
 

POLICE LOOKING FOR STOLEN ATV
 

(CULROSS TWP, ON) – April 25, at 10:52 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of the theft of an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) from a residence along Sideroad 32 in Culross Township. 

Sometime between 6 p.m. April 19, and 10:30 a.m. April 25, a green Honda TRX500 ATV with Licence No. 06MH4, was taken from the property. There is no estimate of the value available at this time. The serial number is on file with police.
 

DRIVER WILL TRY WALKING FOR SEVEN DAYS
 

(CARRICK TWP, ON) – April 24, at 9:24 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol along the Huron-Bruce Road in Carrick Township, noticed a grey Volvo S42 moving at a high rate of speed. 

The vehicle speed was displayed on radar at more than 150 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The driver, 23-year-old Phillip BATTE of Morris-Turnberry Township, was charged with race a motor vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in court May 19, to answer to the charge.
 

OPEN LIQUOR FOUND AT TRAFFIC STOP
 

(CULROSS TWP, ON) – April 24, at 7:56 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol along the Huron-Bruce Road in Culross Township, stopped a blue Ford Explorer. 

The officer found open alcohol in the vehicle. The driver, 52-year-old Wayne ZINGER of Carrick Township, was charged for drive with open alcohol.
