About 100 vendors showcase their wares at the inaugural Kincardine Expo
About 100 vendors filled the Davidson Centre in Kincardine for the inaugural Kincardine Expo, organized by the Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce, on the weekend.
Admission to the event was free, but people were urged to bring items for the Kincardine Food Bank.
There were almost 60 booths on the arena floor, another 25 in the Kincardine hall, plus 10 in the pool viewing area, and three outside, said Jackie Pawlikowski, executive director of the chamber.
Billed as a home show, with demonstrations and activities, retail, design and decor, the event replaces the Kincardine Skating Club's annual Home and Garden Show.
The Expo featured the Penetangear Kids Rock-Climbing Wall; a food and licensed beverage area hosted by the Bruce Steakhouse, a Kids' Passport Program with a family paddleboard rental package as a prize; a "mini-market" for in-home and small business; free swims at the Davidson Centre pool; myFM Fashion Show on Sunday; and lots of prizes and demonstrations.
At the Walkerton Water and Wellness Centre booth, a "EZ Log Structure" backyard shed was being built Saturday to be completed and given away by the end of that day.
