Kincardine Novices, Bantams in finals at Silver Stick regional
The Kincardine Novice and Bantam teams have made it to the finals at the 32
nd annual Kincardine Silver Stick Regional hockey tournament, with the championships running tomorrow (Sunday, Dec. 30) at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
The Novice Kinucks went undefeated in the “B” division, downing Hanover, 6-3, in the semi-finals to advance to the championship game.
The Bantam Kinucks were also undefeated in the “B” division, including Saturday's 2-0 win over Saugeen Shores, and 4-0 win over Hanover, to advance to the championship final.
The Peewee Kinucks made it to the semi-finals where they lost to Saugeen Shores, 5-0.
The Huron-Bruce (Ripley and Lucknow) Peewees also made it to the semi-finals, but lost to South Bruce, 3-0.
The Novice Kinucks take on Tavistock in the final game, slated for 10:30 a.m., Sunday, at the Davidson Centre, while the Bantam Kinucks also face Tavistock in the final, at 4:45 p.m., Sunday at the Davidson Centre.
Winners of the Kincardine regional advance to the International Silver Stick finals, with Novice “B” and “C” in Pelham, Jan. 10-13, 2019; Peewee “B” and “C” in Forest, Jan. 11-13 2019; and the Bantam “B” and “C” in Forest, Jan. 25-27, 2019.
