Thanks to Laura Bonnett for providing home for Gracie
To the Editor:
RE: “Kincardine woman gives foster dog a forever home”

Hi my name is Kelly McNichol and I'm the president of Long Dog Rescue.

In August, “Grace” was brought to us with separation anxiety disorder. Because of her age and disorder, we knew it was going to take a very special person to foster her.

One of our directors, who works part-time at Trillium Court in Kincardine, was talking to Heike Boettcher and they came up with the idea of Laura Bonnett fostering Grace. I took Grace up to Trillium Court to have a meet-and-greet with Laura and it was love at first sight for both of them. Grace needed someone to love and call her own and Laura was the perfect person because she had fostering experience. Our director delivered Grace to Laura the following week.

When we place a dachshund with a foster mom, we always look for a person who can fill that dog's needs and Laura more then met the criteria, and the staff members at Trillium Court were amazing with their assistance.

We had several people apply to adopt Grace but the more we thought about it, we decided to ask Laura if she would become Grace's forever foster. Long Dog Rescue will cover Grace's vet bills and feed and she will stay in Laura's capable care.

These two have a bond that should not be broken. Grace needed Laura to fill that spot in her little heart.

We thank Laura for the love, kindness and home she provides for Grace, and we hope they have many happy years together.
