Todd Norman is new head coach of Kincardine Bulldogs

The Kincardine Fairmount Security Junior “C” Bulldogs welcome their new head coach, Todd Norman (above), who has agreed to take on the job for the 2019-20 hockey season.

Norman comes to the Bulldogs with a wealth of experience, having been the assistant coach of the Listowel Junior “B” Cyclones when they compiled a 116-29-1-4 record during the regular season. They were the Cherrey Cup champions in 2016-17 and capped off the 2017-18 season with a repeat as Cherrey Cup champions and were crowned Sutherland Cup Champions.

The Cherrey Cup is presented to the winner of the Midwestern Division of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) and the Sutherland Cup is awarded to the overall champion of the GOJHL.

“We are tremendously excited to have Todd (Norman) as our head coach for the coming season,” said Bulldogs general manager Warren Beisel. “He is a proven winner and we know he will bring his winning ways to the Bulldogs.

“Winning follows him wherever he goes and his ideas of what makes a successful organization are directly in line with what we want to accomplish here with the Bulldogs. I have no doubt that he will be a key component to our success, and I look forward to a great season.”

Norman grew up in the Gowanstown area where he played his minor hockey for Wallace Township before playing for the Brussels Bulls Junior “C” team, Stratford Cullitons Junior “B” team, and the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League from 1993-97.

He was a member of the gold-medal-winning Team Canada at the 1995 World Under-18 tournament and was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the fifth round in 1995. He completed his hockey career, having played professionally for four years in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), Western Professional Hockey League (WPHL), American Hockey League (AHL) and European leagues.
