Kincardine McHappy Day raises more than $7,000
McHappy Day at the Kincardine McDonald's Restaurant, has raised more than $7,000 for Ronald McDonald children's charities.
The annual event was held Wednesday, with $1 from each Big Mac, Happy Meal and McCafe hot beverage sold, going toward the cause. A number of special guests, including Kincardine mayor Anne Eadie, was on hand to help serve at McHappy Day.
In addition, organizer Lynn Reilly and her team of volunteers and celebrity helpers, held several games, raffles, a yard sale, and a bake table, raising $3,520. When added to the food sales, the total was more than $7,000 which is about the same amount as last year.
McHappy Day is a national fund-raiser that has seen nearly $38-million raised to help children across Canada, since its inception in 1977.
