Kincardine Guiding donates used books to McDonald's Restaurant
The Kincardine Sparks, Brownies and Pathfinders gathered at McDonald's Restaurant in Kincardine, Tuesday night, May 5, to donate about 10 cases of second-hand children's books.
McDonald's has a year-round book sale, with proceeds going to Ronald McDonald House in London. These books were also sold at the McHappy Day event, held Wednesday.
General manager Cathy Ravell and book sale organizer Lynn Reilly thanked the girls for their donation. Following the presentation, the girls had a tour of McDonald's and each received a small ice cream cone.
The donation of used books is part of the Guiding units' community outreach program which also included a donation of used clothing to Goodwill.
