Ron and Dahl Clarridge Driving Range officially opened at Ainsdale
Ron and Dahl Clarridge are thrilled to have their names on the new driving range at Ainsdale Golf Course, just south of Kincardine on Highway 21.

Their granddaughter, Taylor Candler, owns the golf course with her husband, Charles, and despite the incessant rain Tuesday morning, they and their family gathered to officially open the new driving range.

Ron and Dahl were the first to tee-off on the new range which was just completed this spring. It is located west of the club house, and Taylor said it's not 100-per-cent complete but it's getting there.

“We still have to finish the cart paths and parking beside the driving range,” she said. Golfers shoot from the line to the west, and the new building is on the south side of the range.

“It's wonderful to have your name on a building which will be here long after you're gone,” said Dahl. “It's better than we ever expected.”

“We were surprised and pleased when they told us,” said Ron.

The couple's three daughters, Cindy Schmidt of Kincardine, Lynda Bross of Hanover and Janet Weigel of Guelph, and members of their families, were at the event to celebrate the opening.
