Ainsdale Golf Classic raises $8,000 for Kincardine sports groups
The second annual Ainsdale Golf Classic has raised $8,035 for minor sports and high school sports in Kincardine.
Held Saturday at Ainsdale Golf Course, south of Kincardine on Highway 21, the event welcomed 144 participants for a round of golf in the glorious sunshine, followed by a steak dinner. There were also raffle prizes and a silent auction, with MC Gord Dougan of myFM Radio.
The top women's team at the event included Kerry Hall, Carly Schmidt, Cathy Alcombrack and Taylor Candler, while the top men's team included Derek Regier, Dustin Catto, Mark Smith and Charles Candler.
Taylor and Charles Candler, who own and operate Ainsdale, host this event as a way of giving back to the sports community that supported her during her golf career.
Among those, are Kincardine minor hockey, baseball, soccer, the Kippers swim team, and the Kincardine Skating Club, as well as KDSS athletics.
