Ripley-Minto series tied at two games apiece
The Ripley Wolves struggled against the Minto 81s, losing 5-2, in Palmerston, Tuesday night, in Game 4 of their WOAA senior men's playoff series.
Minto jumped into the lead with two quick goals late in the first period, before Garrett Meurs put Ripley on the scoreboard, midway in the second, assisted by Dan Nicoloff and Adam Alexander.
Minutes later, Nicoloff scored the tying goal, from Meurs and Tyler McCarthy, but Minto jumped back in the lead, 3-2, in the dying seconds of the period.
And the rest of the game belonged to Minto as the 81s scored twice more, to take the 5-2 win, and tie the series at two games apiece.
Goalie Gatlin Burt took the loss in net for the Wolves.
Ripley hosts Minto for Game 5, Friday (March 13) at 8:30 p.m., at the Ripley Arena. Game 6 is Sunday, March 15, at 7 p.m., in Palmerston; and Game 7, if necessary, is back in Ripley, Tuesday, March 17, at 8:30 p.m.
