(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) –
Inspector Dana Earley, former staff-sergeant with the South Bruce OPP, is the new detachment commander, taking over from inspector Scott Smith who retired at the end of March.
West Region OPP chief superintendent John Cain made the announcement Friday. “I’m confident that the South Bruce OPP and the communities it polices
will be well-served by their new detachment commander," he said.
Earley will commence her duties Monday, June 15.
An OPP officer for 21 years, Earley began her career at the Essex detachment where she stayed for five years before completing a duration posting at the Marathon detachment. She was transferred to the Huron OPP detachment where she served for eight years and was promoted to the rank of sergeant. In 2012, she was promoted to the rank of staff-sergeant at the South Bruce detachment.
Earley brings to her job, experience as a marine operator, RIDE Unit member, coach officer, Crime Unit member, crisis negotiator, front-line supervisor and detachment manager.
“I’m thrilled to be the detachment commander at the South Bruce OPP and honoured to have been trusted with the responsibility," says Earley. "I’m very fortunate to be able to continue working with members of the South Bruce detachment and our community partners toward a safer and healthier community.”
