Resident worried about proposed DGR in South Bruce

Resident worried about proposed DGR in South Bruce
To the Editor:

I am writing out of deep concern for the proposed high-level nuclear waste Deep Geological Repository (DGR) proposed for our community.

I am worried about the uncertainty the proposed DGR will bring to the farmers in our municipality and the value of farmland.

This place I call home is small villages and people who know one another by name. We need to keep South Bruce beautiful and protect our land and drinking water, and the future of South Bruce.

Allowing the DGR to come here will make our roads very busy, including daily traffic hauling the very dangerous nuclear waste.

One has only to drive down the roads to see the landscape is now dotted with bright yellow signs protesting “No Nuclear Waste Dump.”

This radioactive waste is not what our community wants.
