Reader applauds Kincardine councillor's action to re-open beaches

RE: “Kincardine councillor calls for beach-closure order to be rescinded”

Thank you for your coverage of Kincardine council meetings.

I was relieved to read councillor Laura Haight's motion which strives to both re-open Kincardine beaches and boardwalks and make sure that basic democratic principles prevail, despite the pandemic.

While each of us is doing our part to get through these difficult times, it is important that our democracy and civil liberties survive too! 

As a taxpayer, and a voter, I applaud councillor Haight's action on our behalf, and thank all the councillors who have also shown their support.
