RVilla Retirement Residence in Ripley held its annual mini-Relay for Life Friday afternoon.
The rain did not hinder the participation as the residents and volunteers took to the hallways to complete laps of about 200 metres each.
Joyce Courtney took the lead and completed a whopping 29 laps in her quest to show support for cancer research.
RVilla's six cancer survivors - Anne Anderson, Evelyn Elliott, Joyce and Elmer Courtney, Donelda Pollard and Ruth Roe - posed for a photo and completed the first lap with applause at the end.
Altogether, 17 residents and volunteers participated in the walk and raised more than $400. Appreciation to BDO for handing out the beads and to Anne Broomfield of the Kincardine Relay for Life for supporting this event.
The Kincardine Relay for Life runs Saturday, June 20, beginning at Noon, at the Davidson Centre track.
