Sundown Theatre offering Young Company this summer in Kincardine
Sundown Theatre in Kincardine is again offering the Young Company in conjunction with this summer's production, "Tuesdays and Sundays," directed by Clare Preuss.
The Young Company is a friendly and fun-filled acting and performance program for youth. Participants will have the chance to build a character through acting exercises, interactive improvisation, and physical theatre training and monologue work.
At the end of the training, participants will be able to integrate their character into the world of the play, and will have the chance to showcase their character as they interact with audiences over the course of the production’s two-week run.
The Young Company runs July 25 to Aug. 23 and will involve five training dates, a full-day technical rehearsal and 12 performances, with monologues and character work being showcased each night as pre-show entertainment.
The program cost is $125, and is open to young people ages 13-19.
To apply, send a short paragraph detailing why you’d like to participate in the program, your age, any instruments you play, and what you are hoping to gain from the program, to: Artistic Director Mariel Marshall at mariel@sundowntheatre.ca. Submission deadline is July 1, 2015.
