Province must investigate failings of long-term care system, says reader
To the Editor:
RE: “Province accepting applications for Seniors Community Grant Program”
Sunday, in the Kincardine Record, Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson was quoted as saying the health and safety of our seniors "remain a key priority for the government."
She is also reported as saying the health and safety of Ontario's older adults is more important than ever, and that the province is committed to an Ontario that respects its diverse older population and supports the health and well-being of seniors.
I absolutely applaud the sentiment of those statements, and agree entirely in their message. That is why we deserve to know when our MPP, and this government, will stand behind those words and our seniors.
Will Lisa Thompson be pushing Premier Doug Ford, Minister of Long-Term Care Merrilee Fullerton, and the rest of Ontario's government for a full public inquiry - not the review offered - to fully investigate the failings of the long-term care system, and show actual support for our seniors?
