Help protect others – wear a mask, says reader
Thank you, Marlene Chornie.
Your thorough letter relieved me of the tiresome burden of having to respond to that segment of our society that finds wearing a mask such an infringement on the ability to complete daily tasks. Your explanation allows me a short response.
You are far more patient than I.
Unlike the act of buckling up your seatbelt which protects you, wearing a mask protects those around you. It’s really quite a simple concept.
I cannot understand why some among us find the practice so restrictive. If this is such a challenge, you must be living a life of extreme privilege and ease. A mask must be an insufferable burden, one I’m confident you can overcome.
Every time you wear your seatbelt or change your smoke detector battery, you’re protecting yourself. Extend the same courtesy to others by wearing a mask.
