Resident wants beaches patrolled on holiday weekend

To the editor:

It looks as if the Aug. 1st long weekend is going to be another nice one!

With the many, many COVID-19 (Coronavirus) violations I witnessed in my neighbourhood last weekend, including groups over 10, not social-distancing, not wearing masks in busy public outdoor spaces, not complying with washroom distancing instructions, I wonder how many people agree with me that the beaches should be patrolled by the bylaw officer or delegates of the municipal administration?

Police do not have enough staff to enforce provincial statutes complaints, and the out-of-town visitors are coming in droves.

I’m going to stay safe by staying home. What is your opinion?
