Toronto man was adult who died trying to save teens at pier in Kincardine
(KINCARDINE, ON) – A Toronto man has been identified as the adult who tried to save two teens who were swept off the south pier, Thursday night, in Kincardine.

Sept. 3, at 8:01 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of two teens being swept off the pier by a large wave at Station Beach in Kincardine. 

Officers attended with members of the Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services and Bruce County paramedics to find the teens had returned to shore.

An adult, who had had jumped in to help the teens, was recovered, unresponsive, from the water.

Aleem RAMJI, 38, of Toronto was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.

Access to the pier remains restricted in the interest of public safety. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area until it re-opens.

The Municipality of Kincardine announced Friday that access to the north and south piers at Kincardine Harbour remains closed at this time. Updates will be provided when the piers are re-opened to the public.
