More opinions about parking and traffic in Kincardine
To the Editor:
RE: “The parking debacle”

I am very much in agreement with Eric Howald’s letter! There really should be parking spaces, not money paid in lieu of parking!

Everything moves out of the downtown, and so the people drive out of town to shop! That's common sense to me, and many others as well.

When will Kincardine council and the mayor realize what is going on?

There will soon be all offices downtown, with very few stores struggling to keep their businesses afloat - pretty sad!

In my humble opinion,

“RE: We need stop lights at Kincardine Avenue and Highway 21, says reader”

Great letter. I totally agree with the traffic light idea.

The most dangerous part of that intersection happens when you are turning left from Kincardine Avenue to head north on Highway 21. The cars driving straight through on the highway are hidden by the cars turning west onto Kincardine Avenue.

A light would also slow the traffic down and the gap while the light is on red, would allow traffic to access the highway from Russell Street and Bruce Avenue.

A round-about would not work for the reasons given in the letter, let alone the cost.

To the Editor:

I've lived on St. Albert Street in Kincardine for almost 40 years.

I still think the easiest and most economical solution for the Kincardine Avenue and Highway 21 intersection would be a stop light.

Come on, people, it just makes things better!
