RE: "Objections to Willow West development centre on safety, says reader"
I know the area well, having lived in Kincardine for more than 20 years. I was in and out of that neighbourhood all the time.
Of course, the safety issues are paramount and need to be addressed. That's a no-brainer.
From the original article, I cannot be faulted for my interpretation. There were various references to the attractiveness/lack there of the proposed units, and many references to property values. If you read it again, you will understand how the NIMBY interpretation is evident.
I'm sure there are as many people worried about safety, as there are about the effect on property values. I fear the latter may (not all but likely, some) be pushing the safety fears to camouflage their true concerns.
My point is that I hope everyone is genuinely motivated by safety concerns, rather than the thought of renters in the neighbourhood.
