Brussels woman identified as pedestrian who died after being hit by car near Belgrave

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – A 73-year-old Brussels woman has been identified as the pedestrian who died after being hit by a car near Belgrave, Wednesday afternoon, April 20.

At about 1:15 p.m., Huron County OPP, along with Huron County EMS and North Huron Fire Department personnel, responded to the collision, at the intersection of London Road (Huron County Road 4) and Morris Road (Huron County Road 16).  

Police have determined the female pedestrian entered onto the through roadway (London Road) whereupon a southbound Chevrolet Impala collided with her.
 

The woman was transported from the scene to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. She has been identified as Lena SIEGERS. A post-mortem examination was scheduled to take place April 21.
 

Western Region OPP Technical Traffic Investigation members attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation.  The roadway was closed for several hours.
