RE: “Kincardine Reunion Shirt Tail Parade explained”
There were actually two parades - one in broad daylight heading to Connaught Park, and the other one after dark, also heading to Connaught Park!
Sad that some people think they have to wear very, very little to the parade. That is what spoiled it for everyone! Most people were dressed decently, but some had to get carried away with it all!
In past years, there were few disturbances caused by open alcohol, but this year, the heavy police presence caused problems!
I heard about a person picking up plastic cups on her way home, walking, had a few drinks but knew who, what, and where, but was charged with drinking, really?
Another with a drink in hand and charged by 'a plain clothes police' with a badge!
The police would have NO idea what a Shirt Tail Parade even was when they were called upon to work here this weekend!
The Shirt Tail Parades used to be a lot of fun - in 1970, 1980, 1990, 1998, 2008 - and few issues or problems!
